DnD: Compact Monster Knowledge Cards

I can't imagine any RPG people reading this blog who don't already know about Sly Flourish, a repository of awesome ideas to make running a D&D much better. One such idea are Monster Knowledge Cards, a simple idea that helps speed up combat by displaying a monster's defenses to the PC's.

Mike's cards are 5x8, folded in half and have a full-color image of the monster printed beside the stats. They look nice, but I'm far too poor/cheap and don't play enough to make something that can't be used as much as possible.

To that end, I've made a compact version (four to a page, eight if you print double-sided), with the intention of printing them on cardstock and having them laminated. They can then be filled in with dry erase markers and reused.

Additionally, I think that the next time I get a game together (no idea when that will be, at this point) I'm going to increase monster damage while decreasing their HP's. This should make for shorter, more intense battles and help us get the most out of our sporadic gaming sessions.

DnD: Skill Challenge Tracker - Sneak Peak

I need feedback!
This is a picture of the Skill Challenge Tracker (originally referred to as a 'template,' but I think 'tracker' is more accurate in this instance) to which I'm preparing to add editable fields - much the same as the Editable Monster Card Template. In fact, it will have the same size (4"x6") and printability as the Monster Card Template

I need to know from DM's what works, what doesn't, what needs added, what needs dropped, and what needs more explanation (assuming it will fit).

Based on a suggestion from IllusiveDreams (Twitter), here is what the Tracker might look like in use (based on the Negotiation skill challenge in the DMG):
Complexity and DC will be dropdowns; Pri(mary), Sec(ondary), Blk (Blocked), and Auto-Fail will be checkboxes; the remaining fields will be text boxes.

DnD: Editable Monster Card Template

Here it is! (425 KB .pdf, Mediafire)

The editable Monster Card Template looks like this (fields are highlighted):

Use it, abuse it, and let me know how to improve it (without infringing on copyrights or breaking any laws :-S). Enjoy!

DnD: Monster Cards - Where'd They Go?

After being banned from the second forum, I started reading up on copyright infringement and the legal ramifications of such and have come to the conclusion that producing the Monster Cards produces a certain amount of risk I am no longer comfortable with.

Instead, I will tweak the editable pdf template into a blank form which allows the user to enter ALL Monster stats and info themselves. I hope to have it up early next week.

This really sucks because I know they're a good idea and I know it's what a hefty percentage of the people who visit this blog come looking for (not that it means much when you average 30-some visits per day).

My apologies if you're disappointed - I hope you'll find something else here that will keep you coming back.

This round goes to The Man.
